Genetic Variability and Structure of Fragaria nilgerrensis Schlecht. Germplasm in Sichuan Province

Fragaria nilgerrensis Schlecht. (wild strawberry) is widely distributed in Southwest China, characterized by stress tolerance and the fruits of a notable peach aroma. So far there only limited knowledge variability genetic structure this species. Using AFLP markers, we investigated 37 plants F. sampled six main mountain areas Sichuan Province analyzed their structure. Genetic similarity according to Nei Li was used for cluster analysis based on UPGMA method Agglomerative Hierarchical Clustering. Stratification into more distinctive groups determined using Bayesian analysis. Six primer combinations produced total 1302 fragments which 818 (62.8%) were polymorphic. showed grouped five groups. Most from same area clustered group, indicating each as an with unique profile. The parameters here indicate huge Province. Our results provide reference data surveying protecting germplasm resources that could be strawberry breeding programs.
